PKI is entering its most disruptive decade. TLS certificate lifespans are shrinking to just 47 days, and the shift to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) is accelerating faster than most organizations can adapt. For CISOs and tech leaders, the risks are real: outages, compliance failures, and reputational damage.

Why Attend

Accenture and AppViewX will unpack the seismic shifts reshaping PKI and what they mean for enterprise security, identity, and infrastructure leaders. Learn how to build the visibility, automation, and crypto-agility needed to stay compliant, resilient, and ready for the post-quantum era.

Speakers

Chris Bailey is a prominent figure in the PKI and digital trust ecosystem, currently serving as Board Chair of the PKI Consortium and a founding member of the CA/Browser Forum. He brings over 25 years of expertise in shaping global standards, launching certificate innovations such as Domain Validation (DV) and BIMI, and holding senior roles at Entrust, Trend Micro, and GeoTrust.

Leonardo Mangelli serves as the ZTSI and CLM Canada Lead at Accenture, where he plays a key role in expanding the firm’s Cloud & Infrastructure Security capabilities. His leadership encompasses strategic cybersecurity offerings such as Zero Trust and Certificate Lifecycle Management, and includes the execution of complex security programs across both public and private sectors. Prior to joining Accenture, Leonardo held CTO and Senior Cybersecurity Leadership roles at several organizations in Canada and Brazil, including Cycura, Dinatech, and Future Security, where he led strategic initiatives and innovation in cybersecurity.

What’s Changing

47- Day TLS
Lifespans

  • TLS certificates are cut in half (drop from 398 → 200 days) in March 2026, on the path to 47-day TLS by 2029.
  • Manual renewal is no longer sustainable - automation is mission-critical to avoid outages.

Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)

  • NIST mandates: classical algorithms like RSA will be deprecated by 2030, disallowed by 2035.
  • CISOs and tech leaders must begin PQC planning now - inventory all cryptography, enable crypto-agility, and build migration roadmaps.

Client Authentication Moves to Private PKI

  • Chrome will enforce the removal of client authentication from all public TLS certificates.
  • Workflows relying on client authentication - VPN, Wi-Fi, APIs, and mTLS - must transition to private CA-issued certificates to remain operational and avoid service disruption.

In 2025, your PKI strategy won’t just support your security posture, it will define it. The difference between leading with resilience or reacting to outages and compliance failures starts now.
